Reginald VelJohnson, born on 16th August 1952, is a popular American actor famous for his roles as policemen like Carl Winslow in the series Family Matters (1989-1998) and LAPD Sergeant Al Powell in Die Hard movies.

VelJohnson grew up in the Queen’s part of New York City before relocating to Brooklyn’s East New York District, where he attended William Esper Studio for theater studies. In this era, he debuted in movies with some of his first flicks, including Ghostbusters (1984) and Crocodile Dundee (1986).

One of his most notable characters was Carl Winslow, a good father and an honest police officer on ABC’s Family Matters (1989). He managed to have a successful career throughout its nine seasons by starring in several TV shows such as Monk, Chuck, Bones, etc., 

All while having guest appearances and lead roles in some TV movies. To this day, one can say that Family Matters remains one of the most adored television programs featuring Reginald VelJohnson.

James Avery’s Co-Star Rumors

As said before, Reginald has never been married or romantically linked to anyone. Nevertheless, rumor has it he might be dating one of his co–stars, James Avery. Rumors have been circulating since they both played in the Family Matters sitcom.
